Have you ever read something like Shakepseares work and said "WOW! Thats really good! How did he ever come up with a idea like that for his story?" I wouldent blame you if you said you did. Shakespeares work in my opinion is the best litature work around! Many people would back me up if i made this statement. Im not saying that you should believe that he is the best. But you should reconize that he is one of the best. And after you can clearly state Shakespeare is one of the greatest writers of all time and mean it, a question will most likely arise. Where does shakespeare come up with these ideas for all his plays and sotries! Elaborate and deep characters and story lines with a twist and turn around every corner leaves you on the edge of your seat almost pulsating with energy as the same thing repeats in your head! "Whats going to happen next?!?! Whats going to happen next?!?!?!" Well some of his ideas for his stories come from a rather unlikely or odd place.
One of shakespeare's sources of inspiration and information was the bible! The bibles stories told of all sorts of diffrent tragaties and miracles. the bible could have given Shakespeare ample amount of inspiration for his stories. Not alot is known about shakespeare espiacally between 1585 and 1592 AKA his lost years. But when he emerged from these lost years his plays and stories went from trash like Titues Andronicus to amazing and mind capturing stories like MacBeth and Romeo and Juilet! Another source of inspiration was said to be his real life events. Some say he would make things happen on purpose to create a story from it. Others say what happened in his stories took place in his life just maybe tweaked a bit.
Its hard to say where his inspiration came from but we can make a few assumptions. The bible for starters is the source people say is most likely. Real life events are probably less of a chance, but if he cuased them to happen to others you have a more realistic source of inspiration. Stories of other people's hard times could easily been changed to make them more dramatic. The truth is we dont know were most of shakespeares ideas came from. But what we can say is that when they did come, they were extaordinary!
